Hello Fabulous Friends!

I hope this finds ya’ll in peaceful, positive places!  YAY for long weekends to get caught up with yourself, friends, and life!  YAY for a bit of extra space to contemplate, chillax, and do whatever you need to do for yourself!

On the contemplating part, I keep returning to the concept of letting go.  Such a life lesson, right?  OK, hold on, ya’ll, we’re about to get real serious here…

Letting go…

When a relationship ends, you let it go; even when it takes awhile and continues to be a process after the actual breakup.  If you feel angry about something someone said to you or towards the person that cut you off when you were driving, you try to let the pissy-ness subside.  Or, when you recognize a pattern (like skipping exercising or eating too much) that you know is not beneficial, you do your best to let go of the old pattern and create a new one.  Letting go of what no longer serves us can be challenging.  I wish it were as easy as throwing away food that has gone bad, without reservation or doubt (just with a turned-up nose).  Wouldn’t it be nice if it were as simple as allowing your exhale to end before your inhale starts, automatically and naturally?

It’s as though, sometimes, our brains and our hearts don’t connect with each other in ways that work.  We overthink rather than feel.  We feel too much and forget to remain grounded.  Or, we get overwhelmed and don’t deal with it at all consciously, and it ends up getting stuck in different places within our bodies.  How can remain connected to think with our hearts and love with our minds?

I think one of the keys is within our breath.  I am learning that what we do not let go of resides within us, located in a unique place somewhere between the heart, body, and mind, and the key is breathing through it while looking at it and then letting it go.  Like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon that has become too tight.

Take a moment to breathe and just let go into this moment.  Let this moment become the next moment.  Breathe.  Ahhh, there you are!  It feels good to show up, doesn’t it?

I encourage you to now take a few more moments to jot down some thoughts or take a walk and contemplate.   Or, dance around while you allow yourself to be how you need to.   Sing at the top of your lungs.  Find away to breathe and release.
