Hello, Fitness Folks!

I hope this finds ya’ll doing amazingly well in this moment!  Personally, I’m thrilled to have given myself permission to stay in bed all morning to read magazines and drink tea.  It has been a nice change to slow down and enjoy some time to just be.  I highly recommend making this happen for yourself by scheduling it into your life, if you don’t already do it.  I know it sounds kind of funny to schedule a non-scheduled time, right?  However, if you don’t, it probably won’t happen.  SO, go ahead, give yourself permission.

Why?  Life happens. Quickly.  Thus, there is a need to live it fully, more happily, and in each moment.  Chances are, doing a bit of ‘nothing’ will allow you to appreciate the moments of chillin’ as well as help out when you are in the midst of your busy-ness.

My downtime this morning really got me thinking about what it is that makes me happy — dancing, connections with folks, cooking, drinking tea, taking baths, sipping champagne, eating tapas, getting pedicures, laughing, listening to music (especially live music at Yoshi’s), reading magazines, laying out on a beach and basking in sunshine, baking cookies, and admiring flowers.  Just to name a few.

Stop reading for a minute and jot down a list of what makes you happy.  (Really, go ahead and write them down!)

Now, here are some thinking questions:

* How often you do things to make yourself happy?

* When can you do more of these things that bring you happiness?

* Are there any happiness ‘items’ that you can combine when you are really busy?

* Do you see any themes or overlaps in your happiness areas?

* Are there any ways to bring your happiness to things that are more challenging for you?

* Is there a possibility of taking these moments of happiness and connecting them, so that rather than sprinkles of happiness, you can BE YOUR HAPPINESS?

* If you were to create a motto or manifesto for living your life based on what brings you happiness, what would it be? (Check out some cool ideas from Lulu Lemon.)

Just food for thought.  Like my delicious stuffed shells and butter lettuce/radish/corn/avocado salad I made last night with a friend while sipping wine and listening to music after a pedicure that was proceeded by a long day of dancing, knowing that the next morning I had plans to just be…

As always, feel free to email me your thoughts!

Happy happiness, ya’ll!

Hearts, Heather
