Work out with me this week!

Monday 5:30-7:00 pm at IOF.  Urban Dance/Circuit/Kickbox!

Tuesday 5:15-6:15 pm at Hipline.  Ladies~ Shimmy Pop!

Thursday 5:15-6:15 pm at Hipline.  Ladies~ Shimmy Pop!

Friday 5:30-6:30 at IOF.  Urban Dance Kick/Circuit!

Saturday 10:30-11:30 am at Hipline.  Ladies ~ Shimmy Pop!

Hipliners, please note: Saturdays will be at 10:30 moving forward.  Also, classes are filling up to the max, so be sure to reserve your spot online now!

What’s up, Fitness Family!

I hope this finds you well and enjoying yourself in this moment!

As I wrote about last week, the triangle of fitness is comprised of cardio, strength, and flexibility.  These three components continually work closely together to give you your best fitness level.

Cardio’s goal is to get your heart pumpin!

Here are some tips to think about:

* To maintain your current fitness, shoot for 3-4 days of 30 minutes of cardio (note: this is in addition to strength training).  To lose weight, shoot for 5 days a week 30-60 minutes each time.

* You can break up cardio into sections (i.e., 10 minutes 3 xs a day) and still get good results.  You can also get in small pieces during the day by doing things like always taking the stairs and parking further away from your destination.

* Be sure that you are exercising hard enough for it to count as cardio!  Just doing the moves or getting on a machine without much exertion is not going to do much for you.  Find out your target heart rate if want to get a more accurate gauge for when you are exercising.
